When students arrive they will get themselves situated and then find an area to quietly start playing the first form (Siu Nim Tao) to warm up. Students will then either be paired off to play various two-person drills, do group conditioning workouts with punching, and kicking exercises or work on other forms or drills as instructed by Sifu.

We teach the complete martial arts training system of Ving Tsun Kung Fu, the same way it has been handed down through the ages. We practice forms, conditioning drills and two-person drills, as well as study many practical applications.

Ving Tsun (pronounced wing chun) trains a student in the “Centerline Theory.” Through a series of forms and drills a student is conditioned to occupy and control the body’s centerline which is the best position from which to attack and defend. The system also provides extensive instruction in the principles of economy of motion, simultaneous attack and defense, and relaxation.

Students start off by learning the first and most important form, Siu Nim Tao. It is within this form that the student will learn the concept of the centerline, proper body alignment, the main stance (Yee Ji Kim Yeung Mah), the basic hand positions of Ving Tsun and the importance of relaxation. The entire Ving Tsun system can be found in Siu Nim Tao.

From day one, students train the Ving Tsun chain punch (Yat Ji Chung Choi). This is the one technique that characterizes and represents the Ving Tsun System.

You will become more confident on the street, at home and in the workplace, because you know you can take care of yourself in any situation against anyone of any size. Ving Tsun teaches principles of kung fu that can be applied in any number of situations and that have proven effective for over 400 years.

Our goal is to teach you real martial arts so you can protect yourself and your family. Here you have the opportunity to learn from and train directly with your Sifu. There are no belts in Ving Tsun and there is no testing or boosting of egos. As a matter of fact, we want you to lose your ego. Our goal is to teach you real self defense that is automatic and subconscious, because in real life situations you need to be able to react quickly and effectively.

Sifu Tim Lee teaches the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu Martial Arts System to honorable people who can use their skill and strength to overcome adversaries, protect life and help the good of humanity.
